On Sunday December 11th, the churches of Gisborne present the annual Carols by Candlelight service. This event has been held for many years and attracts a large part of the community.
By running the community carols, we have been able to keep Christ in the local Christmas celebrations, something which, sadly, has been lost in many places.
This year’s Carols has a packed program, with items from virtually every school in the area, as well as community carol singing.
Gisborne Carols by Candlelight will be held at Gardiner Reserve from 8.00pm on Sunday December 11th. In the event of bad weather, the venue will be moved to the Gisborne Secondary College gymnasium.

October 2004 saw the first of our regular Gisborne Combined Churches services. These continue to be held on the first Sunday of each month and have proved to be wonderfully encouraging and spiritual events, at which the body of Christ in Gisborne puts aside the things that often separate us and concentrates on the fundamental truths that make us one.
